A Loveliest Weekend
Been clocking long hours at work for the past weeks rushing the publication's production deadline... so I was looking very much forward to the long weekend and am I glad, I had such a lovely time.
It's really been a long while since I had a restful yet effortlessly enjoyable time. The long weekend kicked off to a good start for me when I met up with Niang Niang, Ah Lian, Tania and Lei Lei for dinner after work. As usual, girls' talk ruled the night! Highlight of the weekend was spending lots of quality time with Mr. Gecko and we had such a blasting time belting out songs after songs in K-Box for 4 hours! :) You won't catch me singing for another half a year.
This weekend came at the right time to soothe my shackled spirit. I was having a difficult period grappling inwardly with some family issues for the past weeks and on top of my work stress. Personal interests were waging war intensely with family's obligations. In the end, I decided to let go. I particularly hated this kind of 'being-taken-for-granted' feelings yet at the same time, I feel I need to fulfill certain responsibilities, amid much unwillingness. Sigh~~ I wonder when will all these obligations end.
I will not go into details the root of the problem. Since I had let go, this is the last time anyone will hear any mention of this issue, including Mr. Gecko. He's been very understanding and is willing to make adjustments in our lifestyle to fulfill my so-called family obligations. He's my balm.

So I say to myself "Chin up, Girl!"
