Mahjong and Marché

A quick and compact recap on what's been happening in my life the past two weeks.

Chinese New Year: This year, my parents decided to celebrate the lunar year in our JB home and so we did not congregate with our extended family as per our usual family tradition. My mom particularly hated going back to my dad's ancestral home whereby counting my generation alone, my grandmother should have 23 grandchildren by now. My mom hates all these familial chaos, mass cookings, relatives' flashy-ness and the quintessential family gossips. Gosh... but oh, how I miss all the hubbub hubbub, not to mention the missing ang pows big monies losses. I do not think I have a lot more years left to continue demanding those red packets... Staying at home, I had to usher in the lunar year with lotsa 'qi's and 'pong's at the mahjong table mainly with mom and sis as kakis and sessions were ongoing till wee hours in the morning for almost the whole week. I turned out to be the biggest mahjong addict and the biggest winner too! But still, this new year is such a BIG YAWN for me, so I am determined to pack my mom in the boot of the car should she resist the idea of going back again next year. She is 3 cm shorter than me anyway, so she shall fit in the car boot nicely :)

Valentines' Day: *Sigh*~~~ I suspect Mr. Gecko loves me no more... Besides failing to propose to me again; for the 6th year running, he had nothing prepared for me this valentine!!! :( No surprises, no pressies, no roses... so no love right? Well, at least he kept apologizing and I made him feel better by claiming the valentines' surprise will contra with the HK and Bangkok trips he paid for. Hai...I am so no use. But well, I didn't really do anything special on my part too... hehehe... there was really no time to prepare as both of us rushed back from Lunar new year only on Sunday itself . I went for a frantic shopping trip last minute after work and finally decided on a shirt from Topman. We did have a fantastic dinner sans candlelight at Suntec's Marché so I shan't be so petty then. I am at peace and the birds shall be singing again.
