The Jerms Rockin' Away @ Devil's Bar

Mr. Gecko and band, The Jerms were invited to play a gig at a Renault's Formula 1 event at Devil's Bar yesterday evening. It was the usual kinda corporate shindig held at some watering-hole. Boring at some time, eventful at some point and The Flying Dutchman did more than jiving up the whole party with his lively banter.

The Jerms were invited to showcase their songs during the boring intermission of the Formula 1 race. Just for your tidbit, The Jerms consists of 4 handsome albeit slightly overgrown boys with a common passion for music and chicks, so for almost all their gigs, the missus of the members were mostly present to rein in their man. You never know when the other gals on the floor will act up and fling their panties while they rocked. I, for one play it safe everytime :)

It was also yesterday then I managed to catch up with the lead guitarist's missus who is currently being groomed to be the next A-lister for Singapore's export of Chinese pop singers though I am not mentioning names here. Anyhow, I was much enthralled with the bits and pieces of information throughout our conversation, particularly when she was telling me how it is such a common scenario for business men to "bao" female singers / actresses in Taiwan and is hoping she will never have to face such a scenario. She will never be tempted but is afraid of offending those entertainment big-wigs who may otherwise hamper her road to honest success. Now, to "bao" an entertainer generally means some rich business men pay to seek a muse and my friend concludes most of these business men probably had some inkling with the entertainment circles.

Actually both of us do not exactly understand what does being "bao" really consists but we came to the conclusion, it may either make or break a singer's path to stardom. Well, she let on to me that a particular local singer is rumored to be "bao" but she is currently not famous yet leh. So, I think only talents matter then and my friend has oodles of singing powresses. A true talent.

All the more I want to wish her the best for her debut and may she shine like Stephanie Sun. Of course, I took the opportunity to take more photos of she and the boyfriend together. Who knows, if I need some quick buck one day, maybe I can then sell the photos to some entertainment magazines. *kekekekekeke*
